"Best sushi I ever had! salmon was sooo fresh and tasty! very friendly staff."
"We had a delicious dinner, ordering 3 rolls (8 pieces per roll) for 2 people."
"I ordered detachable vegetable gyoza, avocado rolls, and crispy tofu rolls."
5 Super cute place with lots of nice little details and great aesthetics. The food was excellent (and I didn’t feel sick or anything afterwards). The only downside was that when the sun went down, the lamps filled up with little moths that kept flying onto me and even into my shirt… I know it’s not their fault, but it was a bit uncomfortable while having dinner.
5 If you’re in Nusa Penida and craving sushi, this spot is a real gem. The menu has a surprising variety of options – from classic rolls to creative fusions – so there’s always something new to try. The flavors are fresh, rich, and perfectly balanced, definitely above what I expected to find on the island. What makes it even better is the price: super affordable compared to similar places in Bali, which means you can enjoy a full sushi meal without breaking the budget. The portions are generous, and every dish feels made with care. Honestly, it’s the kind of place I would happily return to not just once, but three or more times during a stay. If you love sushi and want quality, variety, and value all in one, this place is absolutely worth it.
5 The sushi here is absolutely delicious and such a good price!! I got tuna sashimi, butterfish nigiri, salmon maki and the dragon roll and it was soo good!! The staff were friendly and the vibe is great here! It’s also in a good location to walk to the beach front too! I would definitely come here again!!
5 can only highly recommend this place! We ended up coming here three days in a row because we loved it so much. The value for money is excellent, the food quality outstanding, and everything tastes absolutely delicious. I’m from Europe, and honestly, this is some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! Big portions, fair prices, and super friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit – I’ve added some pictures of the food!
5 It was an amazing lunch we had at Sushi Island. Big portions, delicious fresh fish - feeling all good after eating the raw tuna and salmon. Lovely staff and quick serving of our menu. Great variety of different sort of fish and type of rolls. Highly recommend this restaurant to every Sushi lover!!
5 Sushi was unreal. Fish was very fresh and yummy. Came here twice during our week long stay on Nusa Penida and would keep coming if our stay was longer. My friend enjoyed the katsu curry (not pictured) and she said it was also “off the charts”. You definitely need to stop in if you’re a sushi / Japanese food lover!
5 Is probably the best restaurant on the island (I spent 3 weeks so far and eaten out every day) the place is affordable, lunch for 2 is 250 rupiah 15$, and they don’t charge service charge or taxes on the written prices, the butter fish is amazing, tempura udon is great but also sushi (many are good) okonomiaki and more. Mehila (the owner daughter around 5 years old) is extremely sweet and behaved, if u interact with her once she will remember you and great you every single time u come. I took a minute to write this review coz here on the island not all the restaurants with good reviews are actually good, so to prove this one is real I gave a reasonably comprehensive description.
5 Coming from Hawaii I’m very very picky about my tuna, and was kind of skeptical, most tuna I’ve had in Indonesia has been dog fish or shibi but this was great quality. As always sushi is expensive as it should be lol lol me and my buddy went and we split the party sushi platter we both have huge appetites and this definitely filled us up, I totally recommend this if your dinning with someone else it was such a great value and you got lots of different kinds of rolls and sushi. So if your in the mood for some sushi I would totally go here, as there signs say “first sushi on the island” Vibes were good they have super funny art work on the walls and very down to earth setting
